There's a cool looking place in Tucson and the Bikini Bar in Phoenix - I guess Hula as well, anyhting else?

Best,
Big D

2 places in Tuscon,
Kon Tiki on East side of town,
the Hut on 4th street, West side of town.

Get to the Kon Tiki, you will see real Tiki decor there...

and a whole lotta puffer fish and fish net float lamps

I saw this on the river across from Parker AZ a couple of years back. Technically, it's in California, but only by a hundred yards

Thanks for the info.

When you say real tiki (at the Kon Tiki in Tucson) - you mean it's all completely hand-made - unique?

Best,
Big D

One of TC's carvers, Buzzard, moved to Whetstone, AZ and kinda dropped off the grid. He hasn't posted in about 18 months

Big Daddy, Kon Tiki is a 'traditional' Tiki Bar built in '63 and is largely original (BBBen did a fantastic 'touch-up' a few years ago) and WELL worth a look-see.

You won't be disappointed!

A significant drawback to "classic" tiki decor in Arizona is the single digit humidity that we have for a significant part of the year. In a private home w/climate control this isn't such a big factor but in a public setting like the Kon-Tiki where the doors are frequently opening and closing it can really take it's toll on rattan.

Yes Zond, but the tikis live forever here in the desert - no rot!
