New Zealand carving add on or not?....

So found this piece at an Antique store for $5.00.Our
friend and my husband both believe corkscrew is an add on.What do you think?...

Is a wine corkscrew something commonly found;I've yet
to come across one before while viewing other collections. Though this is my first piece of "New Zealand" Tiki.Has anyone else run across one of these?...I'd be interested to see some of your pieces.Already seen some of New Zealand pendents.

I have one that's a bottle/can opener. I believe they're made in Rotorua specifically for the tourist market.
