JT notes in Tiki Road Trip that unauthorized :) use of grenadine in Mai Tai's can lead to a pink or reddish colour. |

The Tiki Ti is no slouch when it comes to Mai Tais. The reddish color is just a combination of dark rum and the photograph. Now move on, you're holding up traffic. |

I know that the Tiki Ti isn't "slouch" as I visited the place myself in the mid 90's and had some very nice drinks. The red coloured Mai Tai on the photo made me curious though... |

As an afficianado of libations and being intimately acquainted with the potions at Tiki Ti, I'll vouch for their mai-tai. There ain't no red in it. That photo is warmly lit and the dark rum appearance may be affected by that. Grenadine in my mai-tai? My goodness, no! -Weird Unc |

Even if this Mai Tai was red ('snot), I think if there is one place who have earned the right to break the 'rules' and mutate classic recipes at will, it's Tiki Ti. |
