Dark rum colored, maybe?

JT notes in Tiki Road Trip that unauthorized :) use of grenadine in Mai Tai's can lead to a pink or reddish colour.

The Tiki Ti is no slouch when it comes to Mai Tais. The reddish color is just a combination of dark rum and the photograph.

Now move on, you're holding up traffic.

I know that the Tiki Ti isn't "slouch" as I visited the place myself in the mid 90's and had some very nice drinks. The red coloured Mai Tai on the photo made me curious though...

As an afficianado of libations and being intimately acquainted with the potions at Tiki Ti, I'll vouch for their mai-tai. There ain't no red in it. That photo is warmly lit and the dark rum appearance may be affected by that. Grenadine in my mai-tai? My goodness, no!

Even if this Mai Tai was red ('snot), I think if there is one place who have earned the right to break the 'rules' and mutate classic recipes at will, it's Tiki Ti.

I'll be sitting at the Ti in two weeks. I can't wait!
