Very super cool exhibit in Galeria Vertigo ( http://www.vertigogaleria.com ) of Mitch O'connell's art. Some paintings with tiki themes in them. |

Not sure if this is the place to post these menu covers? Looks appropriate, however these lean towards Mextiki and not Mexotica? Picked these up a few months back. The are from Sitmar Cruises 1975 and the artist is I. Pelli. Later, PTD |

Hola Zeta, Some Mexotica for you since you have been blue on Tiki Shout. Postcard of the Kon Tiki floating restaurant from Ensenada. And one that I just discovered, the Hawaii 5-0 (Cinco Cero) in Monterrey. Nice looking outrigger beams out front. Carta Blanca outriggers. Nice interior. Some cool Tikis, time for a road trip. Adios amigo, DC |

Here is another entry for my long lost friend Zeta's Mexotica post. I picked up this postcard from Las Playitas in Sonora, Mexico. Nice looking Tiki bar. Wonder what the rest of the place looked like? DC |

So, I think, the mystery of the origin of the Mai Kai three cannibals is solved. |

Zeta mi amigo, nice to see you back! I am going to have to go with Grog on this one, looks more child-birth than Cannibal. DC |

Well, there are those that theorize that the "Cannibals" are actually "Birthers": The big belly one being pregnant, than the two others giving birth seated. Like it is done in many indigenous societies. According to historians, the Tahitians practiced infanticide - but not cannibalism. The Marquesans did, though. These Tikis are Marquesan in design. I am sure of that. |

Bigbro, Never thought about the birthing theory, makes sense. Here is a version of the three Cannibals from the Luau in Canada that seems to go with that idea. DC |
