Surf Guitar 101 convention#6, Sat. Aug.10th 2013, weekend before Tiki Oasis

Info for event below:

If yer coming to So Cal from out of town or out of state for Tiki Oasis.
Please consider coming a week early for an extended vacation,
And attend this event.

The last couple years, there have been a handful that have done both
And we're really glad they did.
Durring the days between you could do some of the local tiki bars,
Disneyland, hit the beach, etc...

Sadly, no Fender factory tour on the Friday morning this year.
They aren't open on Fridays.
But if you want to go between Mon. - Thurs. Before or after SG101 weekend.

Tons of great bands, and sounds like a great time to boot!

Question though - none of the flyers are showing a cost, are we to presume this is a "free" event? My guess is 'no', if that is true, what is the cost to see all these bands?

Sorry sir,

We seem to always forget that when doing the flyer.
The price is 30 dollars. All money goes to the bands
To help cover their travel costs.

Please introduce yerself if you come to the show.
I'm the big guy, running around like chicken with my head cut off.

Less than a week away if you count the above Pre-Convention shows (and I do). This will be my 4th Convention, the previous 3 have all been AWESOME !! I look forward to this like a kid looks forward to Christmas morning. :)

doors open at 8 am,
Sg101 member jam is at 9 am,
From 10 am to 11:am is the
2 tribute bands.
Paul Johnson and Friends at 11 am ish

For the main bands see the flyer:
They go In reverse order from bottom to top.
Outer wave starts around 11:45 am
And the El Caminos finish up at 8 pm
Each band gets around 40 min.

Great job Jeff! Val and I had another fun time at the SG101 convention. Another great line-up. Another full day. Another trip home with a bag full of new music. In fact, The El Caminos are playing right on the hi-fi.

Thanks to all the bands that played and everyone who helps put the show on. I know a lot of people work very hard to pull it off.

If you were in the area and missed it, get to the Huntington Pier Sunday!

What an AMAZING day, just the BEST. Jeff you did a WONDERFUL job. All the music was GREAT, I loved it all. I liked the new seating up front, we're not much of a dancing crowd. I really liked the song Davie Allan did. I think my favorite was The Mystery Men. Did anyone get a picture of the two people that won the guitars. Once again, THANK YOU JEFF Take a long nap and start planning the Winter Surf Con. Can't wait. Thanks again for all your hard work, it slows in the quality of the events you put on.

Great show, Jeff! And Rebecca and I are grateful; thanks for booking the bands at the Purple Orchid these last two weeks. It's always fun to introduce this music to a new audience and get their reaction.

Once again I really enjoyed the SG101 convention. Thanks to Jeff for putting this great event together and thanks to everybody who helped out to make it happen.

Great line up Jeff .My only regret is ...I wish I would have got there earlier
in the day.Your time and effort paid off ten fold Jeff..great job .
