Base is carved wood and about 20" tall. With the finial and shade the whole thing is 4' tall. I thought I had seen it before in an old Hawaiian hotel room photo or postcard. Your help with any info would be appreciated. Bob at OA thinks they had it their catalog a long time ago or Sea and Jungle shop but not sure. |

But Ron, it's KONA, the Gilligan bad luck Tiki! :) Mine was carved on a lathe: Gecko made a mug from it. It seems it was based on this typical Milan Guanko design: I have no idea where the LAMP version of it appeared, sorry. |

That's it! THAT'S what Ron remembered, one of the most Tiki-intensive TV studio sets ever! Step into the house right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNSvCOv6bEw Witco bar stools, Chinese room divider tiles, the Guanko lamp - it's all there. I now remember that in the original thread, we found that by comparing some of the items in the set with the catalog, most of the decor must have been rented from Sea & Jungle. Note the convenient placement of extra pillows and bedding in front of the Witco stools so that the original cast members could fall dead on the floor without stunt doubles. Looks like they are napping :D [ Edited by: bigbrotiki 2013-05-25 00:24 ] |
