In process of building pool and planning a Tiki Bar. I have an area of 10' X 14' to work with.. What would be a good size for a Bar? I thinking 3 sided bar, 3' on the ends x 10L' wide. giving 2' off of a screen enclosure, that would put the Left bar top edge approx. 5' from the pool edge. Is this enough room (5 feet) to not have Tiki-Heads falling into the pool? Ideas or comments? And I've been surfing this site for a couple of weeks downloading pix for ideas. I found the below pic and love the green deck color. can anyone help me find the owner and how it was done? Thanks very much. Carl [ Edited by: kala60 2013-09-05 11:17 ] |

We redid our pool and I wish I had large rocks, like the size you could sit on http://federicodecalifornia.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/loewy-pad.jpg ‹(•¿•)›‹(•¿•)›‹(•¿•)›‹(•¿•)›•:TIKISKIP™:•:MAKES:•:FLOAT:•:LIGHTS:•‹(•¿•)›‹(•¿•)›‹(•¿•)›‹(•¿•)› |

Go online and do a search on concrete stain colors, lots of info there. |

kala60; I Am not sure where you are located but here in Florida there are a lot of concrete companies that do fake pavers and concrete staining. I am thinking of tearing the tile out of my house and having the concrete stained and sealed. Go to a home and garden show and there should be a company or two that does that kind of work there. in all your planning, don't forget to consider the sun position (so you're not blinded by it while sitting in or working the bar), direction the wind blows, the electricity and outlets (for the bar and any lighting around the bar, and water pipes (misters, sinks, etc) .... |

That's from Murph's Waikiki Womb: http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=35774&forum=20&hilite=waikiki%20womb And i believe that's a whole unit you buy. It's not a Tiki bar, it's more like a little hut you sit in with a table in the middle. And i believe the green deck is painted concrete. Send Murph a PM. He's anice guy and will answer anything about his tiki bar. [ Edited by: GROG 2013-09-06 14:45 ] |
