That "The Tiki" shirt diesnt look vintage to me, even as a reproduction. What constitutes "vintage"? 80s? 90s?

I see in the ebay description the phrase "vintage style" used, maybe go with that, rather than reproduction.

Also, it's your thread title that's causing a fuss, as it claims these shirts are "vintage". You can edit your title, I suggest you drop the word vintage and just have it read "Awesome Aloha shirts now for sale".

Been selling shirts for about 8 years, collecting for 25. Throughout the years, I noticed that every person has their own version of "Vintage" There is no exact definition of "Vintage" in my opinion. The term was initially popularized with wine, not clothing. But it evolved as a term used loosely in the fashion industry. It can mean design, colors, fit, material, age, etc. etc. Subjective subject... Thanks for the feedback, new to the site.

Don't take it personally. Tiki Central is loaded with people who are very particular about some things, and completely uncaring about others, and they usually don't agree with each other. It's like some sort of weird Witco-based religion. :wink:

I prefer to use the critera as anything up to 1970 can be vintage
And anything from the 1970s & after should just be burned
but hey I am old and don't want to relive the 1970s again.

What I don't get is how eBay polices their site.
I had a few run ins with them on the not mug and nautical thing.
BUT I see tons of other tiki auctions that have things like that and utter BS
and nothing happens to those auctions.
So I guess it comes down to if somebody with tons of time on their hands and who just don't
like you writes to eBay to get your listing pulled.
I don't know what true vintage is but don't see how vintage on these is a big deal really.
How many people put in vintage on eBay for a search anyway, This IS why I would put
nautical or not mug on a listing as the people that would want a tiki light WOULD put
these words in as a search for tiki stuff. (and it's not like they are being tricked into buying a light that's not a mug)
