TONGA HUT'S MONSTERS & MAI TAIS 3!!! Sunday, October 19th! Vending and art show from 2pm to sundown! The Black Tides (featuring Jason Lee from the R.I.P. Tides) perform at 6pm! DJ Tonga Tom will be spinning monstrous music, Durangos Tacos will be slinging delish dishes... plus a costume contest and more surprises! Here are the award ribbons for for Monsters & Mai Tais: Be sure to vote for "Beast in Show" for the art show and "Beast Costume" for the Costume Contest! The costume contest will take place between the Black TIdes' sets, between 7:30 and 8pm. Winners of both the Art Show and Costume Contest will receive a bottle of rum! It's gonna be a frightfully good time!

I've created a set of vintage Halloween-inspired valentines cards... a set of 12, six different images, each with two different sayings. The original artwork for the fliers/postcards... More Fun than a Rum Barrel of Zombie Monkeys. I'm also working on a ceramic bowl of the image. Here's an in-progress pic, fingers crossed it will be all fired up in time! And the original art from last year's show, PNG spirit figures enjoying spirits... Spirits for Spirits! If I get off my duff, I might have a few more pieces ready too! Monsters and Mai Tais is one of my favorites and this year's edition was a welcome, if brief, respite from reality. Thank you Eric, and everyone at the Tonga Hut! Jason Lee and the Black Tides...wow. Due to a series of unfortunate events i missed the show in September with Tikiyaki at Don's but I'm so happy you played at Tonga Hut for this year's Halloween event. The crescendos you guys hit with the altered arrangements and the addition of a trumpet player were incredible. I always love me some Creepy Crawly, but Calypso's Thunder (if I got the name right) is a pretty incredible live song. Mahalo all! Kevin

Got the piece back from the ceramic studio a few days too late for Monsters & Mai Tais, but here's the mug version of the poster art: And it's still not yet officially finished... I'm working on the other two monkeys that will fit onto the rim, and both will be fire chambers. I didn't think they could be part of the main barrel and still have the vessel be functional... too much stuff in the way of the rum!
