Classic comic for kids on the incredible history of bread: http://www.lileks.com/institute/bread/index.html Does anyone else have some wacky historical/"educational" links like this one they can pass along. I love this vintage stuff, and the commentary is hilarious. |

When I was a kid and we moved into our house there was a mummified slice of wonder bread in the attic. It's probably still up there. |

Oh man - that rules! Check out the cover art - that creepy "Twilight-Zone-esque" demon baby look... And those for-shortened meaty arms... Whew! This one's gonna stay with me for a while.... |

So much good stuff there, like the hilarious 60s/70s fashion ads: It's a mini man muu muu! |

My brother once left a Twinkie in the garage for years, and it was still preserved as if just delivered by the Hostess truck. I've heard that Twinkies are only one chemical element away from being ordinary plastic. |
