Donating Blood

Blood for transfusions is running especially short just now
and my local blood bank is on me to donate. (But I just
donated in late May, so won't be eligible to give again until
late July.) If you, like me, are type O-negative, the universal
donor, and have not donated blood in a while, please think
about donating soon. You can learn the current basic
requirements for donating almost anywhere by going to:

and if you happen to be on the western side of northern
California you can even set up a donation appointment
right on the spot.
PS--Donations by other blood types are welcome too.

It's October 2014 and type O-negative blood for transfusions is
desperately short in the San Francisco Bay Area, according to
Blood Centers of the Pacific, If you are O-negative, or know
someone who is, an immediate donation would be a very,
very charitable act.

Good idea and thank you for suggesting it. I've donated for years. I'm O-positive, not quite the universal donor but my blood is good enough for transplant patients and babies in ICU. It's important to donate. Thank you again, Wendy

Thanks for the boosterism, Wendy. Donating blood
is every bit as important as you and I think.

By the way, I still love your story about volunteering
(via the Red Cross) to collect blood blood samples
from pregnant women at an Army Post, and putting
quite a bit of that blood on the ceiling.

Yes but it only took once to learn the difference between a vein and an artery. You have a good memory. I wiped it out with peroxide. Wendy
