Hi, I'm new here, building a tiki bar at my pool and wanted to get any ideas you all may have on the best way to do the roof so it won't leak? I want it to look as authentic as possible from the inside so I really don't want to use plywood. Thanks for any and all ideas and suggestions given. And nice looking forum as well, hoping to learn a lot from here! |

Attach thatch to the underside of your plywood roof so that it looks like thatch from underneath. You can then put asphalt shingles on and thatch over that and hide the real roof. |

I too wanted a waterproof roof. I ended up with plywood and used a stain on the underside. I added the stain BEFORE installing. The top was covered with 15# felt and then thatch. Perfectly dry! [ Edited by: Kevco 2015-05-22 12:18 ] |
