Here's a new one that has flown under the radar all of these years - the Tahiti Hut in Long Beach. I have found some newspaper clippings from the place but have never seen any paper.

The print ads featured Tikis

and Wahines.

The restaurant opened in 1961 and lasted until 1975.

There were several different owners over the years.

Photos of the interior showed the usual Poly Pop trappings - fish net globes, Tiki masks, OOH lamps, Hawaiian-style wait staff, etc.

Maybe one of our Tiki field agents in Long Beach can get a little more info on the place.

Here is same location today. Doesn't look like much is happening there now.

A little ephemera I came across from this one - a matchbook I acquired recently.

The "EXOTIC Atmosphere" graphic looks familiar, but can't quite put my finger on it.

Nice matchbook. That was a fairly common stock image used on many different Tiki and pre-Tiki establishment matchbooks.
