Just about anytime there's somethin' happenin' at the P.O., you know Z-Girl and I will be there, but with an event of this magnitude - it's a no brainer! Valentine's Day with the King and C'Al?? What could be more romantic?

(well, a lot, actually... but we'll be there anyhow!!)

All you folks who were griping about missing out on all the New Year's Eve festivities (Lucky D - are ya listenin'?), let's see you!

And with those convenient hotels (vibrating beds, eh?), there's no way your significant other's can say "no"!

Last year, I took Lady Velour to the Bigfoot Lodge for cocktails. We then went to the Sizzler up the street.

Looks like it will be the Purple Orchid and Sizzler this year.

Can count on Utopiandream & me to be there! We had great fun at both the Puprle Orchid on New Years & Seeing Crazy Al at Sam's Seafood last year.

CA

Great to hear your in....

But what I want to know is if our Lobster Player from south of the Mason Dixon Line is going to make it to the Gig??????????????????

H

Hey, where has TikiBob been? I miss him.

I'll probably be there. I'd hate to miss King Kuk & Crazy Al, but if an opportunity for romance presents itself, I might not want to miss that either.

yeah, I'm listening... I don't know if it's safe to bring my girlfriend around Z girl and Tikibelle again. Last time they hazed her pretty good, and I ended up paying for it. I'll definately give it some thought. Sounds like fun.

I'll be there. Last year my wahine got to pick where we spent Valentines Day. This year - its my turn.

Dude, get her "drunk" this year (if ya know what I mean!) :drink:  :tiki: :o

CA

Ya the Boooz!!!.... does any one have a GONG?

The King may just have to do some serious Mystery Bowl Presenting!! For you gals here on the West Coast that missed out........ But without the Mai-kia gong the King my not have quite the Alluring Powers ???

bring ear plugs will your other Valen'Tikitine supplies......

[ Edited by: crazy al 2012-02-20 11:01 ]

T

GD! I wish I could be there. Got a new set of Lobs to break in.

I guess I will have to hold out for the Oasis.

Balmy regards to all,

Tiki Bob

H

Tiki Bob lives! Look forward to being awed by your lobster stylings in May.

T

Thanks Humu ---- OK, it is not final yet, but I am trying to organize a safari west for this shindig.

If it comes about, I will get into LA on Wed, Feb 11 around 10 a.m. (depending on the mule train departure on time) and I will leave LA that Sun, Feb 15 on the Red Eye Camel Express back east.

I should have this finalized with in 24 hours. Waiting to see the confirmation smoke signals from the mainland.

TB

CA

I too will be flying out the 15th, east coast like, but in the wee AM.... I’ll sleep on the commute to NY to see my old band mate the Fisherman!

Hope you can make it.

Ok, SugarCaddyDaddy & SugarMama will be sweetening up the evening. Who else will be going? C'mon people, there is plenty of time later in the evening for "alone time" with your significant other (and for those creative enough, the ride home could be interesting). We are coming from 40 miles away, and I'm sure some of you closer TC'ers could make it. So who else?

We're in
Mahalo,
Al

Damn, me and Mdm Bong are going to see Hapa play in Irvine.

T

It's all set. I will be in for the long weekend starting on Wed, Feb 11th.

Can't wait to see the gang. Need some of that Hoity Tiki Freaky Toity action!

Michele (Hanalei Pirate)will be in for the event too.

Let's tiki that place up for the event.

TB

H

Alright, Tikibob is a man after my own heart! The jet-set life is the way to go, man. Are you up for a trip to Tiki-ti on Wednesday?

Tiki Bob! Aloha! Looking forward to seeing you and your crustacean castanets out here. I think Tiki Ti on Wednesday is certainly in order!

-Weird Unc

T

Look forward to seeing you Unc! Will you be bringing your uke,Unc?

Humu, I have been trying to send you an email and it keeps bouncing back. Send me your current email to [email protected].

Alohamahalos to all!

TB

T

The wife and I will be there and can't wait to see Crazy Al & The King play.

The TikiPugs

Last year I tried to be romantic by taking Kilomama up to the honey bear lodge in Big Bear and she ended up in the hospital with a broken femur. So I think the P.O. is a much safer bet (a few obstacles yes, but no big jumps!) I'm in!

Dale and I will be going to the Valentine's Day show at the PO. Just to make sure, it's on Saturday night, right?

Mahalo

Ran

S

The wife and I are planning on it!

CA

see ya all there.......

me and the king av'been work'n up a great set... I'm taxing the King's Uke to the max.... it's smoking... or was that coming out his ears?.....

All of your favorite Kuku songs and shenanigans....
Favorite sing a-longs from the band APE....
And many numbers Ape restrains Crazy AL from performing!!
Romantic ballads and...For the ladiesss.....

Good thing I am stuck in New York...

I don't think my heart or my wallet could survive another Mystery Dance!

Crazy Al, we need to discuss your NY adventure.

CA

your ear-drums might also be included...

ya, send me an email with a cell phone and all so i can get the tiki low-down for the big apple.

it should be a fun time at Otto's, The Fisherman might let me do some fishing of my own at his Monday night gig!... o'boy another post...

Aloha Gang,
I'm planning on bringing a few Hawaiian and Calypso record albums from my collection that I have duplicates of to the Orchid this coming Saturday and I'm looking to do a little trading. Suggest others do same.

See you there.

T

Aloha! Great, Crazy Al and King at the same place?! This is going to be so great. Its my first time ever seeing them play. I just bought Jungle Gems and I LOVE it! I also have never been to the Purple Orchid. My boyfriend and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, but we'll still participate in all the loving going on in there. Watch out for us... a 5'3 wahine and her 6'4 kane.
Aloha!

T

My boyfriend and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day

Why TikiTina?

CA

it is a 'Valen'tiki'tine' show, so maybe this will start a whole new holiday of celebrating!

Welcome TikiTina and thanks for the kind words and buying the CD!

[ Edited by: crazy al on 2004-02-11 11:38 ]

T

Well, TikiPug...
My kane and I always thought that it was a lame holiday, more like, a made-up Hallmark holiday. We celebrate our birthdays, our anniversary ( of when we met, as we are not yet married), and kalikimaka :) We do the dinner and a movie whenever and both of us aren't the 'hearts and roses' type. Eh, its just how we are. Now this ValenTIKItine's day... this may be a bit different ;)

T

Just a quick question, what is a 'mystery bowl presentation' from King? How does it go?

GONG! (so I've heard or read)

Good thing I've got a red Hawaiian shirt. See you all there.

CA

GOoooooooNnnngggg! to be more correct.
(an inside joke from the last Hukilau in FL.)

I have not yet found a gong... so there might be some improvising... imagin that from the King...
Just tell the bar you would like a Mystery Bowl presentation and we will do the rest!
(tips excepted...)

tell the fellas to bring some cash for the mystery drinks and APE CD's and other stuff.
(the Orchid will not be selling there bowls however.)

See you all there!

Sure hope Mr. Crazy Al can still jam after loosing his finger tip today!(the entire pad is a gonner!) I told him to stop the lawn mower before reaching in there !!! Damn, nobody ever listens to Old Bamboo Ben! Should be a swell night.

S

good time last night...my head hurts...

4 Mai Tais and two Scorpions, I had a little trouble getting out of bed this morning.

Had a good time last night, it was great seeing the show, meeting many more Tiki Centralites (and seeing old friends again). Didn't get to say hello to everybody, but will try to next time.
The Purple Orchid is a great place to hang out, too bad we couldn't drink more as we had to try to drive back home.
Oh, in case someone was wondering, we tried to get back to San Diego, but after 50 miles or so realized we're not gonna make it, so we pulled into a residential neighborhood somewhere and slept in the car.

See ya' all at the next gathering,

Ran

Ran, glad to hear you did the right and safe thing and made it home ok. On another note, I'm enjoying that Astroglides CD. I played it all morning - really good stuff!

Last night was a blast. A lot more people showed up than I expected so it was cool to hang out with a few peeps who I hadn't seen in a while.

Anybody got any pics?

whoa,
You guys are a friggin blast! That was unhinged fer sure. everyone was friendly and welcoming and FUN. what a rum soaked, uke toned, coconut tappin, loud shirtin, shoulder rubbin, good ole time, yeeeee haw! and the bartenders were great gals to boot, the owner even bought me a drink! and whoa... some of you guys are cute girls, thats great! so... y'all git tagather often, cause if you'll have me, I'm in, and I'll even tote the fluke. Oh yeah I'm kinda bad wit names, what was the drummer from down souths name? he was one cool daddyo and I'm kinda keen ta git tagether wit a bongo player ta pound out a few tunes, okay more than a few. I've decided to take my uke wit me most everyplace for a while just incase. anywho the show was cool beans and I need to see more, I started jonesing before my hangover was over.

I'm a ding dong daddyo rocking on the patio,

What a great time you all looked like you were having!

Wow, Hanalei Pirate, your haircut look GREAT! I may not ever be able to let my dad see Tiki Central; this summer, he stopped and asked "Who's THAT?" when he saw my Tiki Ti photo with you. He thought you were a GOOD-looker. As gorgeous as you're looking now, he just might consider leaving his wife of 52-years (yes, my mom) and moving to California!

You go, girl!
