Aloha! Who has Remix and/or Video Editing Talent?

Pages: 1 8 replies

Aloha Friends.

A long time ago, on an island far far away, I recorded an album called, "Creamy Cocktails and Other Delights" with the ever fabulous Martini Kings.
There was a little song on the record called, "Tie Another Mai Tai On."

  1. I always thought it would be fun to remix this as a longer upbeat-chillout-dance track. Who is interested?

  2. I also always wanted to make a little music video for that song, but alas it never was to be. But what I did do was amass over 300 photos of tiki-related fun and hijinks that I or my friends have been involved with over the years. Including a few rather compromising pictures (wouldn't you like to know?) And I thought it would be fun to set those pictures to the music of the song and then share it on YouTube/Facebook, etc... The thing is, although I AM Mistress of Modernism, bu I am at best - a second-rate video editor. The song is about 2:40 second long.

Is there anyone game to help a gal out for one or both projects?
This is just for some summertime fun - nothing super professional...

T.I.A.

Cheers!
~CC

i think my coconut powered computer is not working.

I've done some remixing... do you have the individual instrument tracks or just the song?

Hi Distant Stuff,
Welcome to Tiki Central. Sadly, all I have are the tracks off the CD.

Yea, sorry. That is not easy to do. It would be just adding music over top of the song...

Hi Cherry:

I could probably help you out with your video if you haven't found someone to do it already.

You can friend or contact me on Facebook if you want to contact me.

Heard from an old musician friend. He filled in the blanks (I am paraphrasing some of his notes below). He informs me that IF someone had a sampler, a re-mix can be done!

So not to mix oil and water, so to speak, by asking this particular question on a TIKI MUSIC forum, but......
Does anyone know anyone with electric dance music experience and the equipment to do it?

we could just loop sections of the song from the cd, then add new beats and bass. (the same way rap records used to be made - a lot of those were based on parts of songs with the bass and drums EQd down, and then a drum machine synced with and then superimposed on top.) Since the song is already mixed with a lot of high-end, it makes me think it could be done?
And/or I could re-record some a the vox ala steven tyler did for the Run DMC remix?

okay - now I WANNA do this - tiki old skul dance remix! hahaha
