Commissioned a new velvet painting

Pages: 1 7 replies

I commissioned a Mexican artist to create a velvet painting for me, based on a photo that I love by the photographer Adolphe Sylvian. He works in velvet already, and I think it came out very well.

Let me know what you think.

Stunning!

I think you're right. Very nice.

Beautiful painting of a beautiful subject. About 5 years ago a Tiki Central artist named Jason Sallin/Iokona Ki'i had painted one of the same subject. I wouldn't pick a favorite, both are awesome paintings and each has elements that I favor

Hadn't seen that version - I agree, I love elements of both versions. Thanks for sharing that.

The artist's name is Zenon Matias Jimenez, and I contacted him through his agent in the US, Cole Dane. The price was very reasonable, I think.

I'd be happy to share Cole's email address - just PM me.

Very nice however I like to see the beautiful face of the polynesian woman .

In this case, her face isn't in the original photo either.
