There's a definite disconnect there. The shipping charge is listed as $53.51 but the description says,
"I do not know what shipping will cost".

If you use a non-west coast zip code the rate goes even higher.

Maybe that was their “Handling charge"

Ah yes, the infamous tendency to charge really low for an item but exorbitant shipping, because Ebay doesn't take a percentage of that. I see that all the time in other things I watch... But it now: $1.00, Shipping and Handling: $75.00.

Not the case anymore, eBay added the "Final value fees on shipping" charge a while ago to take care of that loophole. So now the seller pays a fee on the price of the item AND the shipping charged.
