Forbidden Tiki Fever Jungle Art Show! Nov 19th Bedford Texas

Pages: 1 7 replies

Brave enough to test the thrills of the jungle? Journey deep into the brush with 3 artists as they go in search of ancient tiki jungle treasures! Your safari guides will be Jay Hollopeter, William Flint and Robert Hamilton; 3 art types who figured out that 3 is better than 1 when exploring these dangerous tiki-territories!

Jay Hollopeter- works primarily in oils, although he does venture into acrylic, ink, marker, graphite and colored pencil occasionally. He keeps his color palette bright and vibrant. Jay’s subject matter is influenced by anything from monsters and hot rods to pop culture and space aliens. Humor has always been very important to him as a subject, so you'll see it as an underlying tone in almost all of his work.

William Flint- Earned his BFA in Art from SMU. “Flint” as he’s known, has been an editorial cartoonist for over 30 years. An illustrator of children's books, Flint is an avid low-brow kitsch painter that doesn't take himself seriously, but as for his art, now that’s serious!

Robert Hamilton- Long time painter and musician, “Hami” has been circling the tattoo and hot rod world for years vending at shows, playing live in various acts and showing in spaces here and there across Texas. His passion for all things tiki and the dark jungle have led him to this most recent excursion with new pals, Jay and Flint and his musical collaboration with “the Tiki Torches.”

We hope you’ll join us on opening night as the Central Arts of Bedford and the Bedford Cultural Committee present the “Forbidden Tiki Fever Jungle” exhibition on Saturday November 19th from 7pm - 11pm.

Slithering Snacks and Jungle Juices will be served!

We’re also excited to announce that the savages will be tamed by the sounds of “The Tiki Torches,” performing live exotica, lounge and tiki tunes from 9pm - 10pm. http://www.thetikitorchesband.com
