Recipe: Going Ham, an Original Christmas Tiki Cocktail

Pages: 1 2 replies

Hey everyone, I really wanted to make a Christmasy Tiki drink, and after I noticed that the traditional glazed holiday ham had a number of Tikiesque ingredients (pineapple, cherries, brown sugar, lemon, cloves) I decided to use that as inspiration. So here's my recipe for "Going Ham." Let me know what you think!

1 oz Demerera (used El Dorado 8)
1 oz Dark Jamaican (used Myers)
0.5 oz Cherry Heering
0.5 oz Don's Spices (used St. Elizabeth's Allspice Dram and homemade vanilla syrup)
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1.5 oz Pineapple Juice
2 Teaspoons Brown Sugar
1 dash Angostura Bitters

Dissolve the brown sugar in the lemon juice. Add all other ingredients and 8 oz crushed ice. Shake well and pour unstrained into a tall glass. Garnish with a pineapple ring and maraschino cherry.

I’m gonna try one.
Mahalo

Great, let me know what you think!
