Description:
Visited Hong Kong with my wife and looked up the best Tiki Bar there, the Honi Honi Tiki Loung in Central in downtown Hong Kong. Very cool looking place that sits above the main touristy area of Lan Kwai Fong.

We went there early on a Monday night (explaining the emptiness in the pics), but the drinks were great and the owner said we were the first to try the newly revised menu in the pics below.

Yes, light on the Tikis but, thankfully, heavy on the tropical drinks. The place picks up at night and on the weekends.

How long has this place been opened?

I'm not sure, only a few years from what I gather, but the atmosphere is great. Three stories above the busiest part of the city and very tranquil.

It opened in October 2012 according to Critiki.

Here's the web site for the place.

The menu includes a drink called Meihana Twist -- which features not a single orange-flavored ingredient!

Just scheduled our first trip to Hong Kong in a couple of months. I'm going to try to check this place out along with Wahtiki which is a newer place just up the street. Its apparently owned/run by the son of a long-time manager of the London Trader Vic's.

I've emailed both bars to find out if they have mugs. Wahtiki doesn't yet (they've only been open about a year) but the Honi Honi said yes, they sell some of their mugs. All the pictures I've seen look like fairly generic mugs, anyone happen to know if their mugs say Honi Honi or Hong Kong on them?

We visited Honi Honi on May 10th (as well as Wahtiki down the street). We only stopped in for a drink early in the evening but we really liked the vibe of the place. Very relaxing and a impressive space for the 3rd floor of an office tower. You'd have no idea that was the case sitting out on the patio. I had emailed ahead of time to get some details and Mario, the reservation/event manager, took good care of us. I had the Matomato and my wife had the Tropical Storm, both drinks were solid and we enjoyed them. I asked Mario if the mugs they sold had the bar name on them but they're just generic mugs, they expect to have their won mugs ready later this year. They just started selling a soft-sided flask earlier in the month so I brought one home (pic below). $200 HKD, which is about $25. Oddly enough the flasks are made in the USA and shipped to Hong Kong! Mario also gave up some post cards with pictures of their cocktails and a free shot!

Honi Honi closed during pandemic. The owner has a new restaurant, the Maka Hiki Tropical Bar and Grill, in the Tai Hang district. One of their drinks is the Honi Honi.
