On this week’s show we took a decided detour from our usual Tiki music to mark the Burning Man Festival, which is taking place this week in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. Dr. Zarkov’s Tiki Lounge was created and broadcast for the first time in August 2002 over Radio Free Burning Man. and after reappearing at the festival the following year and then on Festival FM at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2005, it finally migrated to Radio Fairfax starting in 2009.

Dr. Zarkov’s Tiki Lounge show is broadcast on Wednesdays, 5-6 pm Eastern Standard Time (2-3 pm on the West Coast and 10-11 GMT in Europe) at http://www.radiofairfax.org.. 6. “Watch Us Burn” by the band called Lua-O-Milo – which means “Isle of Darkness” in Italian – from the CD: The Exotic Sounds of Skip Heller, featuring Mr. Heller on Piano, Marc Sherman on Alto Flute and DJ Bonebrake on Vibes.
