This is what they call a puffball mushroom the thing was huge.
Found two of them in the woods next door to our house.

That's a big 'shroom! Can you cook it and eat it with CWSM's tree lobster above? :o

Yes you can eat them.
I found ours too late and we could not eat them.

Awesome. Take some of this and allow it to spore out, and then Johnny shroom-seed innoculants across the landscape. Edible! Biochemistry has found that puffballs have the highest antibiotic properties. A puffball fairy ring has NO biological (molds, mildews, fungi, ...) inside the ring. Puffball is very medicinal healthy shroom.
