Email in Profile (not a bug)

Maybe this isn't a bug, but when I went in to update my profile pic, I noticed that my username was in the email field:

When I tried to change it to my email address, I got this message:

(Side track: Uploading photos, especially drag and drop, is amazing)

I'm just curious whether I'll be notified of replies and/or personal messages.

The value in the DB for your email is "Hamo". My guess is that back in the day there was a bug in the edit profile form that didn't validate emails.
