Wooden box, vintage crate - ideas for what to paint on side?

Pages: 1 3 replies

(Apologies if this is the wrong forum!)

SO, I have gotten a big wooden box for my tiki bar (coffee table sized, about 3' long and 18" square on the ends). I've weathered it up nicely.

And now it's time to paint stuff on the side! I have stencils so I can write cool stuff. What should I write on there? Right now I'm, thinking "LIVE CARGO". Should I put more on it besides just words? Shipping labels? And how the heck would you google something like this to get more ideas? Mahalo in advance!

Your question brought to mind these crates from Disney-MGM Studios, with references to classic movies:

So maybe you could include a ship to address for Ernest Gantt at the original Don's Beachcomber Cafe, or Victor Bergeron in Oakland, or even your favorite tiki bar. As for stickers, I literally just searched "travel stickers", which included the following result. Take a look at the very first sticker:

If you like the haze gray theme and don't mind a bit of the dark side: "USS Indianapolis" "Top Secret". Alternatively, from earlier times: "Property of Lt. William Bligh, HMS Bounty" "Handle With Care" "Contents: Breadfruit Trees".
