March of 2016 I spoke to Jim at Tonga Trading Company

I asked about production dates on
the bowl and large Lono

He said:
“Can’t say for sure, but it’s probably 20-30 years old.
Anything numbered under 100 goes way back”

Jon, congrats on an outstanding find!

Here are some additional Hawaiian Discovery/Tonga Trading Company carvings. I love the Bloxam one and have never seen a replica of the original until I came across this one. I’ve sold off some of my other non Hawaiian ones but hopefully can find the photos and upload here. Can’t believe this is the first topic devoted to this cool company’s carvings.
