Question: Bamboo Trim

Pages: 1 2 replies

When using bamboo slats as trim for lauhala mats on walls how do you treat the corners? Do you miter or just but one end to the other? And how about if you have two lengths of trim meeting lengthwise in the corner of the room, how do you deal with that?

Thank you all for the input. IMG_0227

I didn’t want to attempt to mitre so I butted them and hid the joints with rope

Butting is probably the safest. In my experience it's difficult to get bamboo to miter properly because of the size variance. It's possible, but is it worth all the extra effort?
