This is the best first tiki book for anyone tiki-curious. It includes some good recipes and the chapter on rum demystifies that spirit as much as possible (field research is still recommended) but the best thing about it is providing much context to understand what tiki is beyond just bars and booze. There are lots of other tiki books that are great to get next, but Smuggler's Cove should always be first.
