I have about 100 in the old repertoire. So many of them are long gone or many of them changed names over the decades. It's interesting. Once you get to a certain number, you realize that no one cares how many tiki bars you visited. Except perhaps, those who have visited just as many. Far and few between. |

Damn wow! 100 not even close. BUT we have been to many of the best tiki bars still here and some dead ones. Mai Kai, Kahiki, Tiki Ti, Chicago Trader vic's, Swanky's, Kirby's, Amys tree house,Three Dots,Frankies. I know I missed a few, been to more but that's the top ones. |

I've been to 53 locations listed on Critiki (not all of them are bars) but i think that's pretty good considering that i live in Australia. |

Fabulous! Could you add a pin map to this? That's what I used to love about Critiki. I'd just look up where I was going and see if there were any tiki bars nearby. |

Unfortunately we didn't record all the user checkins, only the location information. However I have been able to help people find a cached version online. Message me your critiki username and I'll see what I can find. |

Damn the important question is what do you do to rack up the kind of cash it would take to go to over 100 tiki bars! Let alone the time needed to take off for all these trips. I can tell ya not one who did this owned a restaurant, we were lucky to get one week off a year it would take 100 years for us to do this. And many times I would spend that week cleaning / fixing / waxing floors of that damn restaurant. Wait don't tell me you are in health care, ever notice that the BIG eBayers are in health care. Now you know why heath care is so costly. If you are on this list, you are very fortunate people. |

Good work! You should try to visit the Foundation Bar in Milwaukee, WI. You won't be disappointed. Strange name for an authentic tiki bar. |

Well, I've been busy. I'm now at 130. Updates from my list above: 110. Jet Set Tiki, Newburgh, NY 6/21/23 111. Taha’s Twisted Tiki, St. Louis 7/26/23 112. AO Hawaiian Hideout, Chicago 7/31/23 113. Tiki Tiki, Rosemont, IL (near Chicago 7/31/23 114. Tiki Shack, Put In Bay, OH 8/1/23 115. Rum Bar, Put In Bay, OH 8/1/23 116. Electric Cure, Denver 9/2/23 117. Ponche, Annapolis 3/15/24 118. The Arc Royal, Raleigh 3/27/24 119. Tiki Easy, Asheville 3/27/24 120. Phat Sammy’s, Huntsville 3/28/24 121. Latitude 29, New Orleans 3/28/24 122. Toasted Coconut, Houston 3/30/24 123. Lei Low, Houston 3/30/24 124. Swizzle, Dallas 3/30/24 125. 4 Kahunas Arlington, TX 3/30/24 126. Tarantula, Fort Worth 3/30/24 127. Shipwreck, Fort Worth 3/30/24 128. Saturn Room, Tulsa, 3/31/24 129. Flamingo, Oklahoma City 3/31/24 130. Lava and Tonic, Wichita 3/31/24 The last 11 were from my epic cross country tiki trek - 11 tiki bars in 4 days. I drove a heck of a lot of miles all by myself. My big day, 6 in Texas in one day, was accomplished using this strategy: Hit two bars in Houston, ordering the lowest alcohol content on the menus. I was under the legal limit to drive. Then sober up after a 3.5 hour drive to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Then hit two more. Check into my hotel, and then hit the last two. The most memorable non-tiki bar I went to was undoubtedly the Piano Bar at the Kelsto Club in New Orleans. The piano player and singer was none other than Bill Clinton's former mistress, Gennifer Flowers. She does not shy away from her sexual past. Her four specialty cocktails were: Lucious Lips, Blow Job on the Beach, Slow Screw, and 3 in the Bush. You … Can’t … Make … This … Stuff … Up! Pretty goog singer and pianist by the way. Very engaging with the clientele. |

Now up to 145. Thanks to a move to Denver and a road trip to Chicago, here are the new ones: 131. Bernard's Tiki Room at the Arvada Tavern, Arvada, CO 4/13/24 132. Ohana Room, Millers and Rossi, Denver 5/24/24 133. Swaylo’s, Longmont, CO 5/28/24 134. Hell or High Water, Denver 6/9/24 135. Shrunken Head, Colorado Springs 8/1/24 136. Hello Hi, Sioux Falls, SD 9/24/24 137. Rum Row, Chanhassen MN 9/25/24 138. Wauwau Tiki, Wauwatosa, WI 9/27/24 139. Ula Ula Tiki Room, Saint Francis, WI 9/27/24 140. Bamboo Club Tiki Bar, Chicago 9/29/24 141. Pua Hana Tiki Lounge, Wood Dale, IL 10/2/24 142. Tiki Tiki, Chicago, 10/3/24 143. Bellhop, Des Moines, 10/6/24 144. Revival House, Des Moines, 10/6/24 145. Laka Lono Rum Club, 10/6/24 Can't rave enough about Laka Lono. Great decor, and ohhh the drinks! I threw the bartender my favorite curveball when I find a really good one and the place is not crowded: "I'm going to give you the name of a cocktail that does not exist and I'd like you to make a cocktail that should be called Greater Than the Sum of It's Parts, meaning that if you looked at the ist of ingredients you'd say that would never work, but because you are so good at what you do, it will work." He made me a killer cocktail that featured rum, passionfruit, banana liquor, and Malort. Impossible, inconceivable, but great! |
