The statues on Easter Island are decaying at a rapid rate. Experts are working hard, trying to come up with a solution to save these Tiki treasures. The article is located:

Quit reading FARK and get back to work...

No no no. the header should read:

"German experts are saving Easter Island statues from certain death!"

and then continue:

"Just like in American Tiki culture, a...."

And so on... (where is the thread where this was posted before?)

All I do all day at work is read FARK!

They should just put those umbrella hats on the moai, that oughtta keep the acid rain off. Wait, I thought acid rain was debunked as not being harmful? I think those german scientists are just looking for a free trip to paradise.

How about extra-wide topknots?

I wonder if that German firm could use some of the same technology which is being used on the Egyptian pyramids.

I wonder if some of that cash could also be used to repair and restore some of the Moai back on their Ahu? Maybe some of the cruise lines that now stop there will chip in to prevent any additional chipping away.

The ravages of time and the enviroment are already very apparent on many of the Moai. However, I think the fears of the Easter Island dying are premature. As Kevin Costner's crew did, replicas, however inaccurate, etc., can always be made.

Good post - Thank you for sharing.

What about the trees???
