New Waitiki - Exotica Reborn

Waitiki has a new album on Bandcamp which is really worth listening to. "Exotica Reborn" compiles their two latest releases into one, which contains many exotica classics, including a Yellow Bird with none other than Harold Chang of the original Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman groups joining in. All 13 tracks were recorded live, and three tracks including Quiet Village were recorded with the Galliard String Quartet. The only gripe I have with this is the price; $80 for the CD and $40 for a digital download may make this purchase a little on the high side. But the music is of course sublime, this is a group I'm happy to hear new music from.

Listening now....that drum rhythm at the top of the 1st tune, Cave of the Tarpon, threw me.....then the flute came in and I breathed a sigh of relief....this is so well done. Heavy, heavy hitters here. Thanks for the share!
