NATPE anyone?

I am attending the NATPE National Association of Television Program Excutives in Vegas next weekend - anyone else here going? Or know anyone going?

I'm back in Vegas for the weekend - pitching a new cable tv show at the NATPE (National TV program executives) convention. I just wanted to let you'all know so you'll hold a good thought and send manna our way.

Of course the show will have some tiki elements to it. Cherry Capri is being pitched as the hostess with C.B. Howlie and King Kuke as her Gypsy Tiki Band that follows wherever she goes. Our booth will proudly display tiki farm mugs, BOT, Road Trip, some Shaggy graphics, etc... and a painting by ChikiTiki!!! Kuke and C.B. will be performing at the booth and TikiLee is gonna lend a hand one day. If there's anyone else in town - we can always use an extra body to give everyone breaks.

Please be thinking lots of good thoughts on Sun thru Tues... And if anyone has tv connections - well, all help is appreciated.

i almost forgot - Mateo (Hukilau Brown) will also be helping out at the booth - so there will be a strong T.C. presence in the house - we're gonna try and sneak martinis or mai tais into our booth too, OF COURSE.

Oh sheesh, I totally missed this post. Way to go Mary Margaret and guys! I have a light weight tiki I could have loaned, had I been more on the ball. I talked to Kuke while you guys were out there and it sounded like you guys were having a ball. GOOD LUCK!!!!

oh - you can't see it - cause it's hidden by the standing light, but Vintage Girl made the wall too!!!

oh and i forgot to mention when Cherry and the boys hit the Palms Casino - they have a gift store that only sells a few books maybe a little over a dozen or so... and there it was - the paperback version of the BOT!!!
So I had to take a picture of them with it.

There is a slim chance Cherry et al might be on the Tonight Show maybe tonight or tomorrow night??? They were taped at the NATPE convention and they said it might show up sometime this week.

But so far, i have watched mon-wed and no clips? so if you're up late tune in and maybe they'll be there? No guaruntees.

Was NATPE good for you? er...umm..Cherry Capri? I will be at the DIY Convention next week.

i was there during the first morning and had to leave before Cherry made it to the booth :) I let her do most of the networking being that she's a natural at making new friends. And yes, it was very good for everyone concerned... Direct access to the 'players.'

Yes, DIY is more focused on music and film. The two films I worked on and am currently assisting in marketing, My First Day and The Utopian Society, are hopefully going to sell to a major studio. As far as the music portion of DIY, I currently manage (along with my partner) Sara Mann, who is the lounge singer/guitar player on American Dreams on NBC, so I am a stickler for always wanting to increase my knowledge of the inner workings of the marketing and selling side of the entertainment industry.

If only I could find an Hawaiian/Tiki film to market and an exotica band to manage.... :lol: :lol:

wellllllll... long time coming, but just thought i'd update the home team on the latest...

as a result of the tonight show showing and some very good friend connections - i got a literary agent - as in someone to rep the show as far as production and writing.

we will be setting up pitch meetings over the next few weeks/months and with the good mana of the ohana the tiki gods will be pleased and we will be spreading the gospel of TRUE tiki to the willing eventually.

it all takes much time and patience and for the lull in between - lots of mai tais...
