Isle of Wight Beachcomber bar?

Pages: 1 2 replies

i was looking round Ebay and spotted this postcard for a Beachcomber Hotel Bar in Shanklin in the Isle of Wight.
More Brit-tiki on the beachcomber theme or possibly a Butlins Hotel.

I think I've seen that image before, used to illustrate a Butlin's Beachcomber.
Did you win the 'totem' salt & pepper shakers, btw?

Butlins had a number of Hotels as well as the Holiday parks, so it may be one of their hotels but the Isle of Wight Bar looks diffrent i.e. no north american carvings or that god awful carpet that they all have.
I googled the information that was given on Ebay and it appears there is still a hotel there it might be worth contacting them to see whats the story is.

Yup and i got the salt and pepper set, usually i get out bidded but guess everybody else was after the tiki bowls that were being sold this week.
