Brain teasers

OK, just cause schools out doesn't mean it's time to slack off. Here's a puzzle for anyone interested. The person I got this from took almost a year to figure it out (and he's a writer). You cannot use anything but pen & paper (no computers). If you get the answer, don't post it (at least not yet) but PM or email me. The first person to figure it out gets a box full of absolutely nothing, so good luck:

Using the letters in the following 2 words, create 1 new word. Use each letter only once and you must use each letter. The answer is a word so common, a kindergardner would know it. the 2 words are:

ROAST MULES
