I looked for a prev topic, but could not find any that addressed the technique of splitting or rip cutting a bamboo pole. Does one use a bandsaw with a metal blade or is a corse wood blade ok? I would like to throw together some frames for my menus, and also trim my aquarium stand. Whats best for bamboo that is 1/2 inch in diameter? Can you use bamboo from old tiki torch poles? Thanks for suggestions in advance! |

Thank You Rodeotiki. That is just the info I needed! When I can get a little "wham" together, I'll order me some tools! |

Bamboo splitter for length-wise cuts, fine-tooth Japanes hand saw for cross cuts. |
