You know how people will have ice sculptures at weddings and other assorted parties/functions... has anyone out there ever carved a Tiki pole out of ice? Maybe even an ice Moai? How cool would that be to have a large Tiki pole in the center of a giant punch bowl (or trough), or as a centerpiece in a buffet. Someone out there has to have done this, so are there any pictures? -T.J P.S. I'm asking because I am planning a Halloween party, and thought that this would be all too cool to do. |

My brother and some friends carved this one just a few feet from the South Pole, I'm pretty sure it is still there. I would probably hard to get it to your party, it is about the same size as an actual Moai head. [ Edited by: captnkirk 2005-09-27 09:13 ] |

I've got a quick solution for you. Buy one of those party city wall hanging tikis. They're made of a thin plastic. Lay it face down in your freezer. Make sure to support it (I used bags of frozen veggies). Pour a large glass of water into it, wait for it to freeze then repeat. It works great. I had friends asking me if I carved it. I didn't take any pictures, sorry. |
