One of my fellow teachers' husband is a SERIOUS Bigfoot hunter/collector (yeah, I have a hard time keeping a straight face too...). Since the auction reserve was not met, I gave her a copy of the auction this morning. She passed it on to her husband and apparently, he's already contacted the seller "offline" and is arranging to go to Minnesota to buy and pick this thing up!! Now THAT is serious!! I'll post a follow-up when I find out the actual selling price...

My enviromental science teacher in high school was a real bigfoot enthusiast - I remember he had in his collection a tuft of hair found locally in Maryland that was identified as coming from a primate and even a specimen of dung that had some bizarre significance...he also would tell the class stories of locals encounters with the bigfoot that supposedly lives in the watershed of Deer Creek, a local creek that winds through miles of wooded area...I don't know if I believed any of it but he was probably the best teacher I ever had...maybe he should have taught creative writing, he had a lot of kids believing!
