I am hoping to restore this couch and table that match my bar. Only problem is, the rattan (?) that wraps around the joints has fallen off over the years. Does anyone know where I can purchase it? Or maybe an alternate wrapping to use? I also plan on reupholstering the cusions, but there's not much point in that if I can't fix the frame. Thanks. this is the couch. this is the damage. |

Thanks! THis furniture has been in my family for over 50 years, I would like to restore it to its former condition. |

Here's a more direct link to franks canning: http://www.franksupply.com/handcaning.html#bindercane Soak it in water for 24 hours to get it nice a flexable. You can use little tacks to keep the begginings in place, but I usually use elmers wood glue and tight wrapping has kept mine in place. I've never wrapped furniture, but I've wrapped lamps n' stuff. Looks pretty much the same. have fun! |
