Hey Dragon, Let me back up here a bit! First WELCOME to Tiki Central, I Apologize for my sly remarks in GMANs Thread! Please accept my apology? Actually your T-Shirt designs are very nice and refreshing. good luck with sales here. Take some time to get to know TC(Tiki Central) and I'm sure you will find a warm bunch here. IF you came just to sell t-shirts, you might not fit in to well but Who knows things change. We just get protective of our friends and once you have been around awhile you will enjoy the feelings. |

I think the blue design is fine but I think it would be cool to have a big jade colored one filled in solid just like the necklace charm. Or maybe what you have up there is a rustic brown on a Earthy colored shirt. I don't know. |

OK. Not sure what mmmm means but if you say so. I am always working on a design or 5 haha and 2 tiki pieces currently. I will definately put a solid tiki up and thanks for the feedback. There is a deep red and brown coloured TShirts that i know of. I wasn't trying to get at anyone in the carving forum just got confused(and i did say that) because there were so very many pages. But even I admit I have a bad temper, slow to start but once im there it is a good one. Runs in the family. You will find that in general Maori art is a sensitive issue, I don't have a problem really with others trying there hand but only that it is reasonably accurate. Doesn't have to be authentic just recognisable to a degree. There was and is still many instances where the Maori culture has been suborned for profit. It happened to my Tribe with one our marae and its art. I am not accusing anyone and it is not a excuse just I hope that others understand my perspective. I am sorry that he thought i was critisizing (yes I cannot spell very well :)) him but not for defending myself. I would like to participate with the forums as I love to learn about other Native cultures besides my own as well as artforms of which Tiki is one that spans many Cultures both polynesian and more. |
