Art born of a billboard

Aloha all- Guess it's a good time as any to jump into the mix. This is a recently completed work that I debuted at the just-past Mainlander's 1st annual luau bash. It is titled "Coconut Wireless," and is inspired, oddly enough, by a simple cell phone biilboard I spotted for a brief second off the freeway. I caught a glimpse of the phone pictured there, and immediately thought, "Dang, that thing sure looks like a tiki-!" I rushed home, and furiously conjured a study, which lead to the finished mixed media composition you see here (complete with a genuine thatched roof, no less). The day that I start visualizing tikis in modern electronics, is the day that I know my affliction is hopeless... Please enjoy!
