When did Tiki Bob's San Francisco close?

Writing my dissertation and I can't find a date!

I am sure you read this post:

and no, there is no date, but it sounds like the late 70s early 80s, the typical closing date for Tiki joints:

"...Raffles #2 was on Market and 1st St., it also catered to the business crowd. We became 'uninvolved' in the late '70's...TB's never recovered, alot of regulars had passed on and times were changing as they are prone to do. Raffles #2 closed some time before TB's. So that left Raffles...Aunt Florence(not my real aunt, I was just raised calling her that) continued on with her daughter Kim taking over Raffles for a time..."

I met Florence Nowlen at Raffles #1 in the mid 90s, but have lost all contact info. And that guy Kal hasn't posted here for years, so good luck.

Bob Bryant left his own creation pretty quickly, only after 7 years. The failure of Tiki Bob's Mainland and Sacramento must have made the Hawaii offer an easy choice.

If you are still having trouble finding a closing date, try emailing the San Francisco Public Library. Those crazy librarians love challenges like this. At the very least, they can look up old city directories and find out what year it stopped being listed.
