The Tiki Cowboys will be performing their Island-Country-Blues music at the Horseshoe, Saturday September 18 from 8pm-12am. Their unique blend of Guitar, Ukulele, Congas and Bass give this trio a unique Country-Urban Beach-Blues sound like no other. This is very surrealistic, if you ask me.......odd song, weird almost voodoo vibe going on....and then the guitar comes in at the end, totally playing the wrong notes (some strange minor scale along with happy, C6 chords)...planned? Unplanned? Who knows! Eerily creepy! Watching it makes me feel someone put some juju on me! The video itself is even creepier. Seems like the city is practically empty. All that's missing is the sound of a cold, northern wind blowing in the background! Tiki Cowboys WILL kill us all! (They must be stopped!) |

Thanx for watching! Actually the lead is also a ukulele, but it is tuned DGAD. I used a Risa metal string uke. I just love those ukes! Why can't an American company make a uke like that? Leave it to the Germans.... And it's suppose to be creepy..... I think "Tiki Twang" will be known for in Chicago as time goes on and the lakefront becomes a freshwater music meca of Midwest Tiki! Right now there are very few venues to play at for Tiki music. Tiki like Blues and Country is an ever evolving music. The Tiki Cowboys is mixing them all together!
