Ukulele players will especially enjoy his fast fingerpicking, modern uke playing styles of Jake Shimabukuro, Troy Fernandez and Bryan Tolentino. He is a superlative singer, entertainer and humorist. He is equally at home with Hawaiian, Standards, Latin, Rock, Blues, Country and Bluegrass. Johnny shows up from time to time to kanikapila at Hulaville, so I've heard him play both his steel guitar and ukulele. I don't think I've ever heard anyone better with that Hawaiian/Exotica sound. Tickets are $5.00 per person, in advance at Hulaville. Come early for ala carte dinner.
