Aloha all: Here's my latest hang-up: swizzle sticks! From left to right: Kon-Tiki (Sheraton Hotel Montreal), Tiki Village (Prince George, BC), The Tropics Motor Hotel (Seattle - figurehead is a long-ear!), BIG Vic's canoe paddle, Tiki Ark (Williston, ND), Tiki Village in blue, Beachcomber Polynesian Restaurant (Edmonton, alberta - my childhood Tiki temple!), and Kahiki canoe paddle. All either traded or gifts, lucky emspace! |

Oh yeah, me too. I also go for Vegas, pin up and pre-Castro Havana swizzle sticks as well. I 'need' to get some monkey with fez ones. Island Madness was out when I ordered a bunch of goodies from them last, but maybe there are some more authentic ones out there.......hmmmm |

Oh and I forgot to mention, tiki/girlie/rhumba match books to go with the Ratpack era Vegas casino and tiki/hula/pin-up ashtrays as well :P [ Edited by: Rattiki on 2003-07-05 05:57 ] [ Edited by: Rattiki on 2003-07-05 05:57 ] |

I've been collecting them too...got a bunch of the Kahiki and Trader Vic paddles (or are they war clubs, I'm never sure), the new Tiki Farm paddles, and some other odds and ends. I've been thinking if I had enough extras (that is, beyond what's needed to actually stir some drinks) they might look good in a bamboo frame. I'm looking for a Harvey's Sneaky Tiki swizzle if anyone is interested in trade. [ Edited by: suffering bastard on 2003-07-05 09:11 ] |

Hey Rattiki, here's some eBay monkey-with-fez ones (not mine, I don't have any - never sold anything on eBay in fact) cheap, if you haven't tracked another source yet... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3232368590&category=10905 aloha, |

Very cool Swizzles! I actually picked up some of the Vintage Vic's Paddles and a few palm tree-style sticks on my last trip to Oceanic Arts in Whittier, CA. They were very reasonable and they also had a few Vic's original menu covers that were reasonable, as well. That was about a month ago, I'm not sure if they still have any left. I picked up a cool Swizzle a few months ago at a (now closed, unfortunately) Thrift Store. It's a figural, Landmark Hotel Swizzle. I had some great times in that place before it met it's demise at the hands of, yet another, demolition team. It was the "right price", also. The lady behind the register told me just to take it, I told her I have to give her something for it so she asked me to make a donation so I put 50 cents in the big plastic jar. Too bad this store is now closed. Anyway, happy hunting! [ Edited by: vegastikidude on 2003-07-09 12:18 ] |

I picked up a Seattle Tropics swizzle a couple weeks back. I'd never heard about this place before the swizzle discovery. The motel building still exists, and Monday I stopped by to see if maybe...But of course it was all made Ordinary some time ago. |

Oooh, rough news about the motel. Dang. If anyone has any idea what the Tiki Village in Prince George, BC was?...probably a hole in the ground by now. Anyway, thanx all for the compliments. Yep, I scored well on my very first attempts, and am still hard at it. For someone on a minimal cash flow, like this new father, swizzles can be a very fun and economical way to keep the Tiki jones fulfilled. aloha, emspace. |

Thanks emspace, you can get those at islandmaddness.com for $1.99 a packet of 6, but you have to make a minimal order of $8. I will just have to wait till I order from them again. :) |
