Repro Aloha shirt recommendations?

So full disclosure; I'm a big and tall xxl. Try as I might there is no way I will fit into a vintage shirt. I'm heading to Tiki Caliente in 2 weeks and the wife just scored a killer 50's era play suit (jumper). So in an attempt to rise to her standard I'd love to find a good repro brand that uses vintage prints/textiles for shirts that might fit the modern American male. Any recommendations? Mahalo!

Well Dawn Frasier of course!
She makes shirts using fabric that she designed! Look here:http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic=37451&forum=12&start=45
and her website:http://www.sophista-tiki.com/

Yep. If you need made-to-order, Dawn's your best bet to customize for you. She's done three shirts for me, appropriate to my orangutan-ish, knuckle-dragging, wingspan needs.

Okay, so orangutans don't have wings. It's early here in the Wastelands. Lemme alone.

its cutting it close for a shirt for Caliente. BUT it could happen. if fabric is ordered ASAP. I'll be at Caliente so I could bring it with me and hand deliver it. ( would save on shipping time). Go here and look at the fabrics, if you see something you like we can get it ordered up.

Of course! Why didn't I think of that!? Dawn, I'll email you shortly and see if we can work something out. Even if it isn't doable for TC, I've got to have one of your shirts!

NOT to discourage Dawn's great looking work, but just another tip that Andy (FashionTramp) also makes great quality custom shirts, with vintage fabrics often available.

but will she be at Tiki Caliente?

If you have a Macys near by you might want to check out their Campia Moda brand tropical print shirts. They are $45 retail but are frequently sold for $22 and are sized to XXL. Some are vintage looking and most are done in good taste, sort of a inexpensive Tommy Bahama alternative. I have nearly thirty of them!

If time is an issue, Hana always has fun vintage stuff for big guys and they're site is searchable by size! Their prices have soared in recent years but they're still worth checking out.

Thanks for all the advice! That's why I love this forum. See you all ( or at least some of you) at TC5 where I'll be sporting my newly acquired attire!
