Davy Crocket Tiki mug

I saw the weirdest thing in an antique shop in town. It was a mug shaped like Davy Crocket's head and coonskin cap. Weird. Could it be a tiki-predecessor? It had a steep price. Weirder yet, it had 1840 marked on the bottom. Might have been something harbor or something too.

I know this is vague... any ideas. If it helps, it was a yellowish brown color.
