I have a carving that looks like a flower on a dark piece of wood about 3 feet long and 8 inches wide and about 2 inches thick. On the back it has a name carved in it MARCOS with a design that looks like a pitchfork with a triangle - it looks hand carved I'll try to post a pict but my digital camera is not in good shape - Any ideas? I got it from my Dad who travels all over the world. So attached are more recent pics of an OLD post (one of my first). I am wondering if anyone has any clues to who did it or where. - I think the Tahiti area but have no clue. front back [ Edited by: sneakyjack 2007-01-11 21:21 ] [ Edited by: sneakyjack 2007-01-16 17:05 ] |

Most likely Philippines carving. I had many panels from when I lived on Guam. they do wonderful work. Nice panel! "Marco" or "Marcos" in the philippines is like "Smith" here. Mahalo Mctiki |
