Hi from the Sakatamata Welcome Wagon:

There's so much fun schtuff to do/see in "the sac", people don't even realize @;-)

This weekend we have:

  1. Trash Film Orgy at the Crest featuring the flick "Demons", check out http://www.trashfilmorgy.com for info.

  2. Second Saturday Art Walk, where every month of the year, random businesses open up and feature various local artists. For example, Eddy's Deluxe Haircuts is featuring some faboo taboo tiki art from artist, Jamio. (sorry, shameless plug @;-)

  3. A fun and cheap thing to do is to ride the River Otter, a water taxi that takes you along the Delta Loop. It's $6/$3 for kids, kills an hour, and lets you see parts of Sac. you wouldn't normally see, including the backside of the River Cats stadium, stroll on up to great restaurants like Chevy's on the River, or Crawdad's (they have a tiki bar on the patio!) and Joe's Crab Shack.

  4. Other great restaurants to try are Hukilau Island Grill at 16th and O downtown, Celestin's Carribean Cuisine and Voodou Lounge on 18th and K Street, Tokyo Fros Rockin' Sushi at 2224 Fair Oaks, Sac. Jack's Urban Eats 1230 20th, Hamburger Mary's 16th and J.

  5. Sac. has lots of little museums too, but my fave exhibit right now is at Towe Auto Museum. They have art cars on display. So freakin' kewl!

Wow, there's just way too much stuff to list here, but when you get into town, pick up a News and Review, it's a free community periodical. Let me know what you like to do. I'd be happy to make more suggestions! @;-)
