The rumor that Paul McCartney was dead was outed to a wide audience by a DJ named Roby Yonge on the legendary station WABC in October 1969. Please go to

and scroll down to the 1969 section. Roby Yonge's infamous braodcast of the 'Paul is Dead' theory is here for you to listen to. It's pretty amazing. WABC was (for those of you non-New York area people) a fast paced Top 40 station in the 60s and 70s that didn't allow their DJs to ramble on like Roby did that night which got him fired on the spot.
