The biggest celebrity I met accidentally was in Long's Drugs. It was about 8:30am and I was picking up some cold medicine when I heard a very familliar voice coming from the prescriptions counter. I recognized his voice right away and instantly started to try and figure out how to meet him. I strolled (not very) casually to the end of the isle and there stood Joe Walsh with his son. As soon as he saw me, he just smiled and said, "hey" like he knew me. Super nice guy (or, maybe he goes unrecognized so much that he likes it when someone finally does).

So, there I am in front of Joe Walsh just trying to think of what the hell I'm going to say. I think it was something really clever like, "I really like your guitar playing". He thanked me and shook my hand, then I just faded back into the isle. Normally, I have no problem asking for autographs, but it didn't feel right with him standing there with his kid.

I found out that he lives about 10 miles from me, so now I carry a copy of "Hotel California" in my car in case I see him again.
